About that Kanye

I heard Kanye West's new album is supposed to have very little rapping and a lot of auto-tune. Judging by the "Love Lockdown" single I don't think I will be impressed.

Besides for that, I also didn't like the new Bloc Party album, "Intimacy". I just didn't appreciate the electronics and new sound. "Weekend in the City" was MUCH better. Everyone listen to that.

Also didn't like new Kaiser Chiefs album (Off With Their Heads) and didn't even listen to the new AC/DC (Black Ice//gay album name). I did get the new Nas album but wasn't especially impressed although I haven't listened to the whole thing yet. I don't like how he changed the title from "Nigger" to "(untitled)" because of some record company stress or w/e. Kind of gay.

AAAAAAANNNNNDDDDDDD.....
New Squarepusher (Just A Souvenir) = really good (jazzy)
New Cure (4:13 Dream) = haven't listened yet (wasn't huge fan of new singles but enjoyed them live at Download 2006)
New Cradle Of Filth (Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder) = haven't listened yet (heard it wasn't good at all and I wasn't a huge fan of the last album)

I haven't seen HSM3 yet and refuse to listen to the OST although I did d/l it for Simone. W/e.

This song is good.

So much for

I just got back to my house and on my computer. Not too much has been happening since school started. Most of my classes are fine except French 2 which really sucks. I'm probably going to drop ROP Computer Graphics because I want an open period. Besides for that I have just been doing the usually trolling and what not.

Benihana

I went to Benihana yesterday with my dad, sister, Simone, and Hannah. My dad made this video of it on his camera. The quality isn't great but I'll put the video up anyway. At like 11:35 you can see the chef make a volcano out of onions.

lately

Stuff has been going down. I'm back from camp and out of school so I have no excuse not to have my summer fun now. I'm going to get a job soon to save money. Today I hung out with Nick and Leah at the Extra Mile and the mall. I might get a job at the Extra Mile if you don't have to be 16. Idk. Then I hung out with Nick and Simone. And then Simone. Then I saw the Wackness with Tully and Arlo. The movie was really great. I liked the acting and novelty and soundtrack. Everything was pretty good. I feel like seeing it again right now. Besides for that I'm doing alright. I don't want school to start but it's going to anyway. I haven't been exercising very much. I don't think I'm gaining much weight but I should still be trying. I drink too many energy drinks too. I don't want to hurt my stomach, but I'm not sure exactly how bad they are. I'm just trolling right now. I generally stay up pretty late and wake up late. I'm going to Benihana tomorrow with my dad and sister and Simone for dinner. That will probably be fun.

realization

I just realized something really bad about myself and I'm not sure what to think. I think I'm sad but I'm so happy that it's hard to tell.

comic books

I've decided to start reading some comics. Just really mainstream stuff that might be fun and help pull me into more underground things. I'm going to read Watchmen before it comes out and Killing Joke because I just saw the Dark Knight. I'm also probably going to read V for Vendetta and Hellboy. I never saw Hellboy or Hellboy 2 but if I like the comic I might watch the movies.

don't tell me

I just got a bowl of cereal. When I went to get milk, I freaked out because I already poured the cereal and couldn't find milk. I looked but there wasn't any so I kept freaking out for like 5 minutes. Then I realized that there actually was milk and I just didn't notice it. Oh, well.

I made this sweater on CafePress and I think I'm going to buy it.

http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/product.aspx?clear=true&number=%20284255144

Right now? Right now

I'm listening to Thom Yorke (Eraser) right now and I just remembered how amazing this album is and how amazing he is.
This makes me think of Lars And The Real Girl.
I really liked that movie.
Simone didn't like it very much but I thought it was substantial.
I saw Eastern Promises last night and that was also very good.
I liked A History Of Violence more, though.
David Cronenberg is a great director.
I like Fernando Meirelles, too.
Blindness looks amazing.

Flyff

I started playing the free mmorpg Flyff.
I've been playing for three days and I'm level 17 now.

inbtw\\\n

I have been really busy with school and friends.
Friday is my last day of school for the rest of the summer.
I think I have a B in my class.
My bus pass works until Aug 08 but not on Sundays.
The new Beck album is out and I will listen to it soon.
(Beck + Danger Mouse = idk)
Also, new Tech N9ne album. I really liked Everready (The Religion).

I'm going to see Sleepytime Gorilla Museum live for the second time. They're playing at the Brookdale Lodge which is a strange place for them to play. It's very hard to describe their music. I would just say avant-rock if I had to. Here's a [link] to their MySpace.

Very good news! My dad ordered a N64 on eBay and it came today. I have three controllers for it and the memory expansion. The seller included Golden Eye, Donkey Kong 64, Star Wars Rogue Squadron, and some other games that I don't care about. I really want to get copies of old games I used to love like Star Fox 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and Zelda (OoT/Majora's Mask).

Besides for school and my obvious occupations of random computer and web2 things I don't have a lot that I'm doing right now. I haven't been doing a lot in music lately and I'm not sure if I want to. I have been playing music but I just haven't been doing any [band] stuff. I need to play more with Nick. Josh and I were playing a bit of doom metal this morning and I wrote a song on guitar.

I finally got my driving permit. I already twittered but for those of you who didn't know. That's a bit of stress that I don't have anymore. I still have to finish Bio at Cabrillo. At least I have a decent B. Tomorrow I'm going to a bonfire. I think it's Chalsey's but I'm not sure. It's Black's @5 or 6 if anyone wants to go. There's a bonfire for sure Thursday as well. Same place and time. Luther will be there for all you Luther fanatics. Good Tullytime either way.

Biology, driving, Viva Pinata

I just finished my 2nd Biology test and I didn't do very well. There were only 40 questions this time and I probably missed half of them. Maybe less, maybe more, I don't know. I also have a 2-3 page essay on swallows due Thursday that I have to do tonight. And I my four person group has to type up a list of fauna and 1-2 page introduction for our final project which is also due Thursday. I really hope that I finish this class with at least a C.

Also, I am going to attempt to take the written test today at the DMV to get a learner's permit. I hope that goes well but I haven't really studied any driving or traffic laws since I did driver's ed last year. At least if I fail I can take it again.

Besides for that I am going to Viva Pinata on Friday and I will see everyone there. I can't go to Beau's birthday anymore because it is on the same day as me and Simone's 2 year anniversary and I also don't have any money for his present. That sucks because I don't want to let Beau down, but I really can't go.

So all together I have a lot to do right now. After I get out of Biology everything will be pretty easy.

Thursday, June 19, 2008

Life stuff

I have been really busy lately. Mostly Biology but also with friends and online things.

I kind of got partied out last weekend so I'm going to hold off until 27-29 June. Then I'll go to Viva Pinata and Simone's two year anniversary and Beau's party. That reminds me that I have to call Beau.

Fuck... My printer isn't working and I need to print out a Bio lab and slides.
I think that I'm out of ink.

But I did have Taqueria Vallarta today. That was good.

I also saw a movie with John Cusack called Grace Is Gone. It was decent.

I should go to bed... after I shower.

Saturday, June 14, 2008

Oh dear

I finally got an official birth certificate. Now I really have to study for the test to get my permit. I'm taking it on Tuesday and I hear that it is tricky. I just hate studying. I also have Biology starting Monday. That should be interesting. I hope I can get through it. It's only four weeks, after all, and I'm done partying.

Tuesday, June 10, 2008

all that stuff

Finals went quite well. I did decent in French 1 (C+/B) and really well in Geometry (A+). Tomorrow all I have is a party in Andy Rudi's (Andi Rudy? I forgot) and Global Issues finals. Easy easy cheese squeeze. School is going well and I should get about $40-60 for grades from my mom. I'm a little scared about Biology over the summer but I think that I can pull it off.

I also got some new music. Lil Wayne (Tha Carter III), My Morning Jacket (Evil Urges), Coldplay (Viva La Vida). I heard Eno produced Coldplay's latest so I thought I would check it out. I also got the new Elysia. Pretty good.

I have a bonfire Friday with Tully if anyone wants to go. Blacks @6:00. Ends at 9:30 or 10 I think when Tully and I leave because of police. Everyone who reads this can go if they want. Even if I don't know you. Friday 13 June 2008.

Trolling was chill today.
Whatever I guess. Summer will be fun.

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

Basically

I am burning a dvd to watch on Wednesday at my mom's and my Windows Vista DVD Maker is slowing down my processing speed if I try to run anything else. I'm going to get off of my computer soon to give the burner maximum available processing and go do real life things. It kind of sucks though because good albums come out today and I would like to get them. New Ladytron, Disturbed and also Weezer. Plus, I guess the debut Fleet Foxes album officially comes out today. I wonder how I got it so easily earlier. Anyway, just thought that I would share that. I'll be back on my trolling sites in an hour or two.

btw, Nick...
folk band at my house was "Fleet Foxes"
indie band that sounded a little like Bjork was "Bat For Lashes"
band in the car was "Fischerspooner" (Odyssey)

Monday, May 26, 2008

I got back to my dad's this morning. This weekend was pretty awesome. I spent Friday with Tully, Mason and Nikki before we went to Pip's bonfire which I won't talk about in detail in this blog. Shenanigans were then to follow at Richard's that night and with Simone on Saturday and Sunday. My brother Josh's birthday was on Sunday 25 May. That was fun.

I've been listening to a lot of new music including: Grizzly Bear, Autolux, Santogold, Crystal Castles, Be Your Own Pet, Los Campesinos!, Deerhunter, Death Cab For Cutie (Narrow Stairs), Pendulum (In Silico), Foals, NIN (the Slip), MSI (If). I just can't stop listening to music lately. I'm pretty much addicted. I hope I don't go deaf from listening to my iPod so loud. Not to mention playing live music with friends and turning up my stereo quite loud... and concerts. I think that I'm going to go to a few concerts this year. I'm going to see NIN with Deerhunter in Oakland around September, I think. I'd like to see Radiohead but it's around $100 a ticket. I hope that Autolux plays CA this summer, too. Also, just to mention, I am going to listen to the first Foxboro Hottubs album. I wasn't going to, but everyone is talking about it so, why not? And I'm going to listen to the new Dresden Dolls album this weekend as well.

...
I need to read about 50 more pages of Malcolm X for my English class. I should start on that. I'm going to watch V for Vendetta with Simone tonight and then go in my hot tub. I still haven't seen that movie. I guess I just wasn't into movies so much at the time.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS!

I am definitely ready.
I made 50 sandwiches and got all the equipment.
I know all my parts.
This is going to be awesome.

Anyone who has a MySpace or other social networking profile, post a bulletin about Wednesday at lunch tonight. That means Leah and Nick! Bulletins!!!

Battle of the Bands

I hope that everything goes okay. I have all of the necessary musical instruments ready. My dad is going to bring them and help set up a little before 12:00. I have enough bread and other supplies for about 50 half sandwiches. I might as well learn Tainted Love now. If you are reading this Nick, make sandwiches! And don't forget the cupcakes Leah! And everyone else make sandwiches and snacks, too! Bahhhhhhh!

Sunday, May 18, 2008

Yes!!!

I have an A in Bellsey! 93%!!!

Yesterday

Was great. Great times with Tully and Mason. Great time at the football game and after with Simone.

Mozilla just released Firefox 3.0 RC

I guess that Firefox 3.0 RC was just released. I downloaded it and it seems basically the same. I'm sure they have fixed bugs. I might post again to give an opinion. I can't wait for the official 3.0 release. I think that it's June 2008. Or July?

New Autolux single

I have been a huge fan of Autolux since I saw them with NIN in winter 2006. I listened to their first album, Future Perfect, everyday in freshman year for awhile. Now their new single was just released for free digital download or pay what you want (like In Rainbows) [link]. The single is called "Audience No. 2" and I like it a lot. My favorite line is:

i have always been your vegetable
and you my Swedenborg
i would drop myself through black holes
to end up at your door

For some reason I really like that part. It's free so everyone should download it.

Pendulum - In Silico

I just got the new Pendulum album In Silico which came out yesterday. First, I have to say that I was obsessed with their first album, Hold Your Colour (2005), which got me interested in drum and bass music for the first time. If I were to rate Hold Your Colour I would give it 5/5. That said, the new album is a very good album. I haven't listened to it enough to really get into it and the sound isn't as new to me as Hold Your Colour's was so it is not as interesting. However, it is still Pendulum and Pendulum remain my all-time favorite drum and bass group. I am not a drum and bass noob, I listen to Andy C, Subwave, DJ Fresh, Goldie and LTJ Bukem and all that, I just really enjoy Pendulum. I can hear that the drums and synths that are used on this album are in the same style as their last (sometimes beats sound exactly like beats from their previous album). Overall, it is a great album and everyone should at least check out some tracks.

I made a new email

I have a new email that I will be giving to people from now on. I think that mr.stacysunshine@gmail.com is too long so I made a shorter one that is easier to remember.

New email: yousheep@gmail.com

I will still use my old email, but if you want you can just email the new one.

I got a haircut. I mostly cut it on the sides. It looks a little bit like Amon Göth because I use gel. I like it.

I just got the new NIN album at home

I decided to stick with the high-quality M4A because I'm not a FLAC guy and the 24/96 audio wouldn't make a difference with my audio equipment. And it's also 1.2gb. So, I will definitely be listening to this over and over for the next month or so. I also enjoyed the included artwork (which I actually saw earlier today). It is interesting to see how they each represent the corresponding song. I will post links to the artwork below. To download the album go to www.nin.com.

999,999
1,000,000
Letting You
Discipline
Echoplex
Head Down
Light In The Sky
Corona Radiata
The Four Of Us Are Dying
Demon Seed
Cover Art

__The artwork for 1,000,000 isn't official. For some reason, when I finished the torrent, the artwork for 1,000,000 wouldn't display and it looked like it didn't fully download. So, I downloaded the torrent again with just that jpeg and it still didn't work. I then noticed that the file was around 4mb while the others were just a few kb so I figured something was up with the original torrent. To get this image I had to screenshot the pfd and take it into Photoshop. That is why it is slightly smaller and probably worse quality than the others.

New Nine Inch Nails album - The Slip

Nine Inch Nails just released their new album for free download on their website. The album has ten songs, two of which have been previously released. I couldn't download the album yet because I am at school and forgot my flash drive but I am streaming it from Trent Reznor's ilike and it sounds awesome. I think that it is tied in with the Year Zero story but I don't have time to figure that out right now. This album is %100 FREE. It isn't Radiohead's "pay what you want" or Ghosts I-IV torrent status it is completely free. Go to the website, enter your email, enter the email of three friends to send the album link to and then it is free to download. It is available in mp3, FLAC, lossless M4A, and better than CD quality WAVE format. Everybody download this. It will be released physically in stores around July 2008.

The Wackness

I just saw a trailer for a new movie starring Josh Peck [link]. The movie looks very modern and trendy and awesome. I will definitely see it. Josh Peck looks in between his Drake & Josh self and his YouTube self. I also saw Ben Kingsly's name so go figure.

ANOTHER NIN SINGLE

Nine Inch Nails released ANOTHER single for free download. The single is available on Trent Reznor's ilike music app on Facebook [[link]. I'm not sure if the single will get radioplay like with Discipline. The singles are obviously linked and part of a new album. The artwork included with the singles were very similar and there was also an included comment: Go to www.nin.com May 5. I will be going to www.nin.com May 5.

After

just listening to the new MSI album, I think it's pretty good. That song Get It Up really got on my nerves. It wasn't just the lyrics, I really didn't like it. besides for that Pay For It was definitely my favorite song. Just download that song if you don't get the album. Never Wanted To Dance, Mastermind, and On It were also good.

Mindless Self Indulgence - If

I just got the new MSI album. One thing that I realized is that they are on The End Records now. Yes, that is the same label as all those avant-garde bands from the bay area like Sleepytime Gorilla, Stolen Babies and Estradasphere. I guess The End also has Scandinavian black metal because they have also signed Winds and used to have bands like Darkthrone, Enslaved and Star of Ash (Ihriel's band; wife of Emperor's guitarist). For some reason, I was really anticipating the album and I can't tell you that it is awesome because I haven't listened to the whole thing yet. But so far it hasn't disappointed me.

I finally got Starcraft to work on Vista. It was hard and it still doesn't work very good, but it does work.

Some videos from today

I don't feel very good

Too much taco salad. I decided to delete a lot of music that I don't listen to anymore and I ended up deleting too much. I deleted like 5gb in two minutes. I still wanted about 1gb of what I deleted. And then I emptied the recycling bin. Whatever. I think that I will upload a vlog we did yesterday. American Idol is on too. And I need to shower.. and shave... and call Simone. Simone should blog more: [link]. Tully and I are going to start writing music for his concept album. The track titles are pretty awesome: [link]. Then I'm playing music with Nick and Trevor and Austin (maybe other people) on Thursday. Rock Lobster and such. That should be fun. Andy Rudi tomorrow (Andy Rudi ftw!!!). I finished my portfolio! It's pretty nice. I need to blog some dreams. The less I think about sleeping the more tired I get.

I think that the audio is a little off but it turned out all right.
The quality isn't good at all. Bah, YouTube!

Tired

I didn't get much sleep this weekend. I feel more awake now, though. I finished most of my homework. I need to do more writing. And some more stop-motion. The Rock Lobster cover turned out pretty well. It sucks that Nick couldn't take more pictures. We'll do that next time. Before we take the video.

Nick and Sarah came over yesterday. We were going to take photographs but then I said "let's cover Rock Lobster" and that took like 4 hours. I'm pretty sure we finished and that Nick is going to finish it off. We're making a video in two weeks if anyone wants to be in it. Nick will will probably take a lot more pictures too. All in all it was a pretty awesome day.

Art class

I'm in art with Simone and Nick! and Katchina. There's still 30 minutes left. Nick, Trevor and I are going to make crazy tribal beats today. I vlogged with Simone and Josh last night. Group vlogs are more fun. I'll post that as soon as I can. I brought it to school to upload it today but I forgot to bring my card reader (brought it on an SD card). I'm pretty much an aid in art class now. Pretty cool.

nintendo ds

My DS keeps freezing when I play games. It takes about 10 minutes (literally) just to get the game to start and then it just depends on how lucky I am whether it will freeze or not. Bahh, DS! I went to nintendo's website but they said that I have no warranty and it will cost like $80! I think that I'll look at my Game Crazy receipt and see if I got a warranty.

Anti-Drug madness

I just saw that anti-drug commercial with the kid sitting in a lunch cafeteria at high school who shows the camera his stupid Altoids box of medical pills that he has stashed away. I HATE HATE HATE this commercial because it sucks! No one enough stupid operations and such to get that much drugs in the first place. On top of that, he has to take all of that eventually. It's not like he can get a drugsmith to make copies. If parents are effected at all by this then they are probably not very intelligent and I am sorry for them. Not that it is hard at all for kids to obtain drugs but no one saves pain pills and stuff like that.. they just buy drugs from drug dealers!

vlogging

I've been thinking a bit and it would be a whole lot more fun if I did most of my regular blog posts and music/film reviews with video. So I will. I might get my camera from my mom's tomorrow. If not I will have some stuff up this weekend at the latest.

school, vlogging, sketches

School was okay. Just because it was a C day. Tomorrow isn't going to be as easy. At least I will be able to write in French... If I'm lucky. BAhhhhh! I might do some vlogging if I can find my camera. That sounds like it will be fun. I also have some sketches to post. I scanned them but they are still on the computer in my graphic design classroom.

I don't want to go to French.

Make me seventh then. No, it's okay, really. I don't mind. I really don't. Just don't try that shit with me were you eat the banana slug. i don't want to see it. Nick and I are playing music tomorrow. It will be fun.//but not in the sun. warum? No, none of that. Just not now. I have a headache.

I don't measure myself in pounds or ounces or koku or doppelzentner. I measure myself in kilometers!

sleep

I always think of naps as work. I hate naps. They killed my friends and family with bricks. I prefer to sleep. Sleep loves me. Sleep isn't the same thing as napping at all. When you are napping, you usually sleep. However, when you are really sleeping, you also usually sleep. Sleeping is good because you can dream. People don't always dream, but, for the most part, they do. Dreaming is pretty high on my list of favorite things to do. It's probably in my top five. When I dream, I can do whatever I want. I'm not necessarily a professional dreamer but I get by. Something that sucks about naps is that you don't always dream. Naps are usually shorter than full sleeping periods and people don't usually obtain great REM sleep during naps. REM SLEEP IS GOOD! It reminds you of crocodiles. Crocodiles are very good. Crocodiles eat lighting in my dreams. That is extremely good for the environment. If I had to take a noun and put it in the fridge for later, it would be the noun sleep. I think it would last a long time while still remaining as fresh as when I bought it. Too bad that crazy bunnyman stopped forging. I don't know if it was a male or a female but it was good. Il a bien. ( - - - )

A2 Nazi Woman

I forgot to get that slip signed for Levi so now I have to go to French :(
I hate French. It's my least favorite class.

Bah YouTube!

water

I have something to say to those who believe that water is tasteless.

Today, I had a burrito. Why is that important? IT HAD HOT SAUCE ON IT! Okay maybe it was mild HOT SAUCE but then I had FLAMING HOT CHEETOS. They were on fire. I didn't drink any water for a whole 1.5 periods and then when I did have some water (which I hadn't drank all day) it tasted like sunshine. Rainbow sunshiny life. It was delicious.

Firefox 3 Beta 5

I just got Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 5 and it's pretty good. I don't think that it is faster than 3 Beta 4. And it also didn't work with two of my Java plugins. Overall, I would say that if you have Firefox 2 definitely download the Beta and if you have 3 Beta 4 then try 5.

battle of the bands

Nick came over to my dad's house yesterday. He was there for about six hours and for the first five hours the whole music thing didn't really go anywhere. Then we decided that it would be better to make the music more accessible and easier to listen to so we made some more stuff with acoustic sounding drums and cool synths. I think it turned out pretty good. Look out battle of the bands, here we come.

Project Sleep

After one post Project Sleep was marked as a spam blog by Google. I sent a request to review the blog but that may take awhile. This sucks because I am planning on having some amazing dreams. I hope it will be up soon.

(btw, if anyone wants I can allow other people to post on project sleep. for dreams and stuff.)

I'll make a post soon to update.

the shawshank redemption

I just saw the film the Shawshank Redemption the other day.

It got a 9.1/10 on IMDb and is #2 on the 250 top rated. I thought I would watch it to see why everyone liked it so much. It was really pretty good. It was on the long side but I found that even as it was ending I wanted the story to go on. Tim Robbins is a favorite actor of mine because of Ordinary People and Morgan Freeman did a good job as well. I would definitely recommend this even if you like shorter films, like I do.

Linux!

After working all day yesterday to get my Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn GUI to work I decided to download the official Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon iso from ubuntu.com. This time I downloaded the server edition (which does not have an automatic GUI). After spending a long time trying to format my hard drive partitions, I finally just deleted all of my Linux partitions and made new ones. This worked very well. The installation ran flawlessly. When I tried to install the GNOME GUI it took a very long time and then stopped near the end for about 45 minutes. Becuase I was getting tired and wanted to sleep, I decided to abort the operation and start in the mornng. I pressed ctrl+alt+F1 to return to my first terminal. Then, just to see if it had worked I checked all 8 terminals. To my surprise, when I pressed ctrl+alt+F7 the Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon GNOME GUI started up. I was able to use Firefox and OpenOffice after a short period of time. I also just installed Flash this morning. This is awesome!

Linux!

My dad just bought me an old eMachines PC (sorry, no picture). I think he got it cheap on craigslist or eBay or something but that doesn't matter because guess what? I have Linux now! The PC has a 600MHz Intel Celeron processor, 30gb hard drive, and 368mb RAM. I installed Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) in a 17.5gb partition of my hard drive leaving 10gb for Windows XP SP1 (old!!) and like 2gb of swap. I am currently installing the GUI. Here are some screens. (I know the quality sucks. My camera and my brothers camera are at my mom's house so I had to use my dad's camera which has the worst lighting ever.)

Human Host (Final)

The whole streaming thing has gotten very complicated so from now on if I have any audio for you to listen to I will make it available for download, stream it with a web flash player, and have it available to stream to your choice of music player on your computer.

Here is the web flash streaming audio for my original song, Human Host:

Ableton Live

I've been messing around with Ableton Live.

I've made some song-like things a couple of times but recently I have been just using the sample wav files and using it to make live music. I made this piece of electronic work with Ableton Live 7.0.1, my NDS, and a YAMAHA electronic drum set. The song is about fifteen minutes. You can download the mp3 file below.

Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland

I have been playing the game Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. At first I thought the game would be a simple (but fun) little game with the awesome character Tingle in it. It turns out the game is a full blown original action-adventure game similar to the old GBA Zelda titles.

The game is based on rupees. If you run out of rupees you die, so rupees are like hp. You play as Tingle in his quest of fairy-becoming rupeeland-chasing adventures through multiple areas. You get to decide how much rupees to pay for a lot of things and usually end up getting really ripped off. The game is very fun and very addicting. I haven't beaten it yet but I would definitely recommend the game to anyone who likes cool 35 year old fairy men.

The game is only available in Europe but you can import it: [link]

NitroTracker

I'm going to try out a similar program to the DS Drum Machine, the NitroTracker. It is a decent tracker for the NDS that now supports MIDI and recording samples with the DS microphone.

This is a video of a NitroTracker rendition of Everything In Its Right Place by Radiohead. Very well done:

Download v0.3: [link]

DS Drum Machine

I have been using the DS Drum Machine by The Chuckster. You can make basic beats when you want to. The version I have doesn't have a save feature or a way to delete measures once you create them but is still fun. I think that there is an updated version with more features and samples but I can't find it.

(I think this is an updated version? The version I have is just the top screen and the lower screen is black.)

Blogging on a wednesday!

I'm at my mom's house which usually has slow dial-up but guess what? Today I was just checking and it turns out I was able to connect to an anonymous wireless internet router which is giving me internet at 18 to 36 mbps!! So I posted four sketches to Sticky Lightbulbs and was able to download some much needed apps and video game roms/emulators and such.

By the way, the lolbesity count today was 10, I believe.

The Signal

I started downloading this film titled The Signal that I heard about on the Totally Rad Show. It is in the horror genre and is about mysterious signals coming through televisions, cell phones, radios, etc. which begin turning people crazy. Everyone then begins to kill each other. I believe that it is shot from three perspectives by three different directors to get a sort of unique feel. It is an American film and I think has a fairly low budget. I might not get to watch it until this weekend so don't expect a review right away. If it turns out that it is recommendable I could burn a copy or two for people.

lolbesity count

9!

Nine today.
There were ten yesterday so today is a decrease by one at least.

Nine Inch Nails: Ghosts I-IV

I just downloaded and listened to all 36 tracks from Nine Inch Nail's Ghosts I-IV [img] this afternoon. I have to say, It was very nice to hear something new from NIN. These recordings were not very industrial at all, more ambient/electronic. It reminds me of the instrumentals off of the Fragile [img] at times. The programming was great but it did stray from NIN's old style of using more traditional instrumentation. I agree with the widely used tag of covering new terrain on this one. Overall, I liked it and would definitely recommend it.

Turnstile Blues

I just saw this video by Autolux again. It's pretty good.

I saw them in Dec 06 and I'm excited about they're new album which should come out this year.

New shoes

I got new shoes.

They're Adidas Samba. I ran in them Sunday and they felt pretty good.

I also saw this movie, I Want Someone To Eat Cheese With.

It's starring Jeff Garlin and Sarah Silverman. The movie itself was a little odd but nicely original. The ending was very interesting and the overall length was only about an hour and fifteen minutes. I liked the movie. I thought it was original and nice to watch.

I made some more sketches and those will be up on Sticky Lightbulbs soon.

Last, I just realized that NIN released something new? I'll check that out and maybe write about it.

Communist Party

I got to school kind of late today. It's okay though because today we are having a communist party in Global Issues! I brought cottage cheese!

Also, I noticed that in my sketch blog, Sticky Lightbulbs, my images are getting cut off on the right side which is not too cool. But the images do show up full in my rss reader which is odd.

I'm at my mom's this weekend so I probably won't post anything... or check my feeds. But I will sketch! I will sketch.

Linux

I got Linux running on my NDS but I still don't have the gba memory expansion. I'm going to buy one online for about $20 that can also support Opera and GBA roms [link]. I'm also going to buy an adapter for N64 and PS2 controllers to pc [link].

After that I am trying to get an old Mac or PC to run Linux on just for fun. If anyone has an old PC (running 2000 or NT or something) or Mac that I could have, let me know.
